“It’s all about the cake” – Chef Duff (Charm City Cakes of Baltimore, USA - Ace of Cakes)
These days there are many different and exotic flavours of cakes available it is impossible to list them all here, so I will just start with the basic and most popular. If there is anything you want not listed here, do ask as I am happy to try new flavours and am open to suggestions!
Cake flavours
Rich fruit cake
A decadent, deliciously moist and boozy fruit cake made with the finest dried fruits, cherries, chopped almonds and brandy covered with white marzipan and fondant icing. I try to allow at least 8 weeks for my fruit cakes to mature for the best flavour, but it is not a problem if there is less time available. I can also do nut free cakes if required but my cakes are not made in a completely nut free environment.
Madeira sponge
This is a firm but moist sponge split in the middle and filled with your choice of filling then covered with fondant icing. Extract of Vanilla is used to flavour the cake which gives it that extra bit of yumminess! (although this can be omitted if not liked).
Lemon sponge
As above but flavoured with the juice of real lemons. Scrummylicious!
Rich chocolate cake
A dark, velvety chocolate cake which again is firm but moist. Split and filled with your choice of filling but I recommend the dark chocolate ganache for a real chocolate hit. A chocaholics dream!! This can also be made with White Chocolate.
Carrot cake
A light and moist cake choice, my carrot cakes are made with natural dark sugar and wholemeal flour for that distinctive colour and natural flavour – so you can even say it’s good for you and contains one of your “five-a-day”!! I use pecan nuts in my recipe as standard, but this can be omitted or substituted for another kind of nut if required, please ask! The cake is then split and filled with your choice of filling and covered with fondant icing.

Cupcakes
Cupcake towers have increased in popularity a huge amount over the last couple of years. I can provide a cupcake tower of up to 7 tiers decorated in your choice of styles and colours. These can be made in a wide variety of flavours, examples of which are listed below, with either buttercream or fondant topping. Ideal for small and medium size weddings and childrens birthday parties. Cupcakes can be personalised with each guests name or initials. My prices start from £1 per cupcake and will include the hire of the cupcake stand (refundable deposit required).
